Well, we ask for your school’s total enrollment, your total enrollment for each course, and — if it’s different — the total enrollment that we serve as your official course material fulfillment solution.
Now, why is it important?
It prevents backorders
In 2015, only .35% of items ordered were backordered by the class start date. That's a number we're proud of, and we're looking to make it even smaller in the future — with your help.
By knowing how many students are participating in your program each term, we can provide enough books so that every student can have what they need by the time courses start.
Without that information, we have to make assumptions based on previous sales information, and this by itself isn’t always accurate. This can result in backorder issues where there simply aren’t enough copies to go around, and can in turn be the difference between making your students repeat customers and losing them to other course material sellers forever.
It helps us make more informed decisions
Past enrollment data may not be the only key to unlocking future success, but it is still important. This information helps us build a history of data that can be used to track your Online Bookstore’s performance and sales trends. This means a better understanding of what your store and your students need.
For example, if we can see that sales are down but rentals are up, we can focus on offering more copies of more titles to rent to ensure students get the options they want and keep ordering from your store.
Having several terms worth of enrollment data to extrapolate makes it a lot easier to come to meaningful conclusions about your store’s performance, so be sure to get your numbers in!
