MBS Direct’s buyback services are one of the things we take the most pride in as a company. Buyback provides our schools and students valuable cost-savings and convenience, thereby helping each student have a successful academic experience. So with your next buyback right around the corner and MBS Direct wants to help make sure your school is ready for the big event. In order to help prepare you, we have created a few simple tips for you to follow as you do your last minute preparations:

Communicate with your students & promote your buyback

When and how to sell their books back should never be a surprise for students late in the semester. We are more than happy to work with you to make sure you’re communicating with your students, both verbally and electronically, exactly what they need to do to sell their books back. We can send reminders on your behalf or provide you with email templates for your own communication with students if you’d prefer.

Another perk of your partnership is access to all kinds of printed and digital materials to help promote your buyback. All you need to do is work with your account manager to choose from numerous digital and print options to ensure all of your students know exactly when and how to sell their books back online. Just make sure they know that online buyback will primarily run between mid-May and mid-June, though we will buy their books back at any time.

Communicating early and often not only gets money back into your students hands but it saves future students money as well by helping MBS Direct get as many used books as possible.

Send us your adoption list

The sooner you get us next term’s adoption list, the better your chances will be of getting all the books you want for your students. Submitting your adoption list early helps MBS Direct to build your adoption list, evaluate your needs first, and then compare that to the needs of other schools, to know just how much to buy back, and for how much. Eight weeks before your bookstore opens is the ideal time to get us a buyback list. If you want to offer your students more used books, that’s the time to do it!

Remind your students about Guaranteed Buyback

GBBMake sure your students take advantage of MBS Direct’s Guaranteed Buyback program by selling back any book they own that has Guaranteed Buyback value. If they participate in this program, they will receive the exact price they were promised when they first bought their book, providing them with upfront cost-savings.
