No matter what you’re doing, reviewing your performance after the fact is almost as important as performing well in the moment. That’s how you learn about what you did right, what you can improve on, things to look out for the next time around, etc.

Online Bookstore Performance ReportThe performance of your school's Online Bookstore is no different

There are places where you exceed your own expectations, and places where you wished you’d planned just a little bit better. And because we want to help you improve every step of the way, we’ve developed this handy Online Bookstore Performance Report, which shows you a number of important ordering and savings metrics for each term start date. Each partner school's performance report is emailed to them after every term.

This performance report can work to your advantage in multiple ways

Most obviously, you can use it as a way to see how well your expectations aligned with reality. Did your students save as much money as you hoped? What percentage of course materials were filled before your classes started? You can view that information on your personalized performance report.Online-Bookstore-Performance_weekly_2016-02-05.jpg

Perhaps the biggest advantage of the performance report is the ability to see the exact amount of savings your school was able to provide your students in a number of categories. Whether it's used books, rental, or any other cost-saving format, you'll have all of that information right there to show your faculty which formats their students most desire and so they can adjust their adoption choices to accomodate those desires. And of course, if you don't offer one or more of these cost-saving options, you'll want to check with your account manager on how you can go about setting that up.

You can also use it to spot new trends. If you see an uptick or downtick in a specific format, say rental, you’ll then know to talk to your faculty members about adjusting their adoptions accordingly next term. If, for example, you see more students purchasing digital, you may want to use that information as an opportunity to integrate more digital initiatives into your curriculum overall – the performance report doesn’t just have to be used as a guide for your course material choices; you can use the information in it to try new things in all areas of your curriculum.

No matter what, it’s clear that this performance report can be extremely helpful in evaluating and planning for your Online Bookstore. Once you know precisely where you stand after a given term, it’ll be easy for you to make further adjustments and optimize the experience for both your school and your students.
