How Emotions Make It Easier — or Harder — For Students to Learn

You don't need a blog like Direct Network to tell you that your students' learning process is not perfectly smooth or consistent from day to day or moment to moment. Many things can cause these varieties of subtle or drastic shifts in how receptive to learning your students are, but one factor may have a bigger impact than you think: their emotions. By helping students find a positive emotional connection to their subject matter, students can take a more immediate and personal liking to topics or whole areas of learning that they had never cared for previously.

Mount Paran sends bundles of hope to Haiti

While Mount Paran Christian School’s Lady Eagles Cheer Program finished its choreography and sideline week, the girls had more on their mind than routines and drills. The Georgia Christian school’s sixth through 12th grade cheer squad banded together for a service project at the end of its weeklong program to send 21 teddy bears to House of Hope, a Haitian orphanage.
