The Most Common Questions Our Account Managers Hear

Our account managers are here to answer any question that our partner schools have. Some questions, however, come up more often than others. In an effort to help answer those questions before they even occur, we've compiled a list of the most common questions asked to our account managers, and how those account managers would answer them when asked. Check out the list below and let us know if it helps!


1. How can MBS Direct assist us with our 1:1 digital implementation? Is teacher/admin digital training available?

MBS Direct has a dedicated Digital Implementations team that will work with your Account Manager to develop a school's digital initiative and implement a successful 1:1 Digital Program. Together we will research a wide range of digital options that are available based on the preferences of the school (downloadable, price, current booklist, etc.) MBS also offers a 24/7 eContent Support team that will work with your school's IT Department to ensure that they are equipped to troubleshoot all digital platforms that the school has adopted.

2. Many of our students are pulling the ISBNs from the Online Bookstore and shopping elsewhere, which often leads to an incorrect purchase and does not benefit our school - how can MBS Direct promote the benefits of purchasing from the MBS Direct Online Bookstore to our students and institution?

MBS Direct is constantly making an effort to provide frequent discounts on select titles for all of our partner schools. You can explain this to customers while also marketing cost-saving initiatives like Guaranteed Buyback, which provides up front cost-savings to each customer that takes advantage of it. And if your school wants to give customers even more of an incentive to purchase from the Online Bookstore, you should consider joining our exclusive Student Savings Initiative (SSI). By participating in SSI, your school will receive school-specific marketing materials for informing customers about the program's intention to provide the lowest book prices possible. When customers see collaboration between your school and MBS Direct, they are often more inclined to purchase from your Online Bookstore.

3. Many of our instructors find traditional textbooks too expensive/cumbersome for class and are now just pulling information from online sources - can MBS Direct assist instructors with custom packets with open resources, or resources created by our instructors?

The first place you should look is at our new site, eText Builder. On eText Builder, your faculty can research and compile Open Educational Resources and create their own custom course packs. OERs have become a huge part of curriculum in both K-12 and Higher Education schools because they are inexpensive and easier to access than a traditional textbook, and eText Builder gives your instructors the power to put them together in whatever way works best for them. MBS Direct is also partnered with LAD Custom Publishing and Academic Pub, each of which provide similar custom publishing services that can be sold through your online bookstore.

4. A customer ordered an eBook last week but they never received the email to download the content. Where or how do they obtain this information?

We can always re-send an email to you that will lay out how you can obtain the digital materials you need, but the easiest way to access your titles is to just log in to your digital content shelf within your online bookstore. However, if an email is your preferred option, we would just need your name, order number and email address.
