There is a graceful, dignified new face of America's largest textbook provider.

MBS Direct is pleased to announce Manuel the MBS Manatee, our new official mascot! We've joined forces with Manuel to make sure schools and students all along the continental United States' freshwater river and lake systems receive the best course materials available.*

Manuel the MBS Direct Manatee is ready to fulfill your course material needs!"Manuel is a valuable member of the MBS Direct team," said Fred Green, Vice President of Client Services, at a local unveiling ceremony Wednesday morning. "With his gentle disposition, blubbery resolution to succeed and steady, forward swimming speed, Manuel understands MBS and our commitment to higher education and K-12 institutions everywhere."

Manuel is named after the majestic Missouri Manatee, known for swimming in the Missouri River and the Lake of the Ozarks.

In real life, Manuel has lived in the MBS lake ever since he was rescued from a drainage ditch. You can expect to meet him at CAMEX, ICBA and children's birthday parties.

The diligent dugong loves all things textbooks, although he's particularly fond of custom course packets, which he finds especially delicious and easier to eat.

When asked about his plans as the new face of MBS Direct, Manuel gave a series of chirps and clicks that cannot be represented in written English before slowly drifting away to the other end of the lake. While we're not entirely sure exactly what he said, we are confident Manuel is enthusiastic for the opportunity to represent the company.

While you're getting to know Manuel, you should check out our new video series, "Meet Manuel!"

*Please allow 3-6 months for delivery. Manatees are very slow.
