Bit-sized emails with a big impact

“We know our school partners want to know about changes in the course materials industry, but they often don't have time to research topics on their own. The email courses provide an easy, bite-sized way to learn about topics impacting course material decisions,” MBS Direct Digital Senior Digital Consultant Carrie Watkins said.

These email courses were designed to offer information without the time challenges of a webinar. Having a tight schedule herself, Watkins was inspired by an email course she took.

“After loving a few courses I took on Highbrow, and how easy it was to read a single email a day on something I was interested in — or hold it in my inbox until the next day if I was busy, I thought this might be a good option for our partner schools as well,” Watkins said.

Each course is a high overview of a topic, and with less than 600 words, there are broad details about a variety of topics not complicated details.

“For the course on Open Educational Resources, for example, we talk about the definition and history of OER,” Watkins said. “We also provide a list of repositories where faculty can find material.”  

More courses will be added to the current collection, each focusing on a specific key topic in the educational space. Let us know in the comments what courses you would find most beneficial.
