Since 1999, the eMINTS National Center at the University of Missouri has offered research-based professional development programs to educators of all levels. The eMINTS™ instructional model is based on four basic principles: High-Quality Lesson Design, Community of Learners, Powered by Technology and Authentic Learning.
The eMINTS program was designed by former teachers to help other instructors create a new kind of learning environment: one that incorporates technology to encourage cooperation, collaboration and problem-solving skills. Training includes intensive, long-term implementation, short-term workshops and a variety of e-Learning courses — all available at a discount for MBS Direct customers!
Because assessment is key to growth, eMINTS training provides teachers with the skills to continually evaluate their own progress and that of their students, resulting in better outcomes for all involved.
eMINTS also provides professional development and collaboration for colleagues in other roles (like administrators, technology coordinators and specialists) as part of implementation or as stand-alone training.
In addition to on-site training, eMINTS offers more than 40 online courses to help promote continuing education and to introduce skills to improve student performance. These courses are eligible for low-cost graduate credit, and can also be customized to fit the needs of an individual school or district.
Some of the courses available for the Summer 2015 session include:
- Chromebooks in the Classroom (New!)
- More Google Tools for Schools (New!)
- Going Visual: Using and Creating Infographics for Learning (New!)
- Classroom Management
- Early Childhood: Learning with iPads (updated for iOS 8)
- Getting Started in the School Library Profession
- Going Mobile K-12
